Divest 101 & How To Organize

  • 4179

Are you a high school or University student interested in enacting meaningful change in your school community? Or a community member wondering what exactly "divestment" is?

Join us for this virtual event that will equip you with the basics of both divestment and organizing. The hour will give university and high school students the tools needed to start their own climate-conscious groups on campus.

Presentation will be given by Marie Therese Kane who joined the climate justice movement in 2016 when she founded a fossil fuel divestment campaign at her alma mater, College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA). Since, she has organized diverse communities--from college students to cattle ranchers--around environmental justice and community development issues, most recently serving as an environmental volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps in Panama.
