Join our training to learn how texting voters (along with making phone calls) is a great way to connect directly since we can't canvass. But it’s not quite as simple as sending a text message from your phone.
Each campaign or organization has their own peer-to-peer texting platforms and procedures. Especially in a pandemic when we aren't knocking doors, texting voters is a great way you can volunteer with us!
These training will be for the "IndivisiText Team," the national Indivisible texting program. We'll be learning how to use their platforms, TextOut and Slack.
The Indivisible Chicago Alliance's (ICA) Introduction to Texting training will prepare you and make you part of the ICA texting team that will be ready to jump in whenever texting opportunities arise. As usual, we’ll do it together and learn from each other.
Come to one of our training classes on Monday evenings in August to learn more about texting voters. Our instructors are fellow Indivisibles from our Evanston and Lincoln Square chapters.
Once you are trained, you can join our "Texting Tuesdays" regular group texting sessions (like our phone banks!), and we will also share other texting campaigns with you, so you can also work on your own schedule.
