Virtual Civic Life Lunch – Leadership During Crisis

On April 24th we will broadcast our virtual conversation with U.S. Congresswoman Katherine Clark and Massachusetts State Representative Jon Santiago, MD, MPH. Moderated by Alan Solomont, Dean of Tisch College, the discussion will focus on the state and federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Katherine Clark has served the 5th District of Massachusetts since 2013. In 2018, she was elected by her colleagues to serve as Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus, making her the sixth highest ranking Democrat in the 116th Congress. She is also a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and the Women’s Caucus.

Jon Santiago has been the Massachusetts State Representative for the 9th Suffolk District (Boston) since 2019, and he is also an ER physician at Boston Medical Center. Before completing medical school at Yale University, he spent five years abroad as a volunteer community health specialist in the Peace Corps. At the State House, Santiago currently serves on the Healthcare Financing and Public Health committees.
