Our monthly General Meeting. We hear reports from working groups and committees, discuss and debate the upcoming actions and events of the branch and ultimately vote on resolutions that are proposed by the general body and membership. All are invited but in order to vote you must be a DSA member in good standing, and live in Bucks or Montgomery counties (unless otherwise indicated). Resolutions are due by 11:59 PM on Friday, October 16th. Resolutions will be publicized and amendments will be due by 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 18th. Rules and DecorumBuxMont DSA is a welcoming space and there will be no discrimination of any type. Every person should be given a space to speak and make their ideas known and heard. If you are one to frequently lend their opinion or voice, let others who do so less speak. We have multiple periods of public comment and break out sessions, so everyone should have their chance. If there are any issues, please email us at buxmontsoc@gmail.com or bring it up with a member of the Steering Committee. There is also a DSA National grievance policy, which Philly DSA follows at the current moment, that you can find at: https://www.dsausa.org/.../harassment-policy-resolution-33/.

Voting on leadership and resolutions are restricted to DSA national members in good standing. We, with discretion, limit voting rights in BuxMont DSA to DSA members who live in Bucks and Montgomery counties. If you live in Chester County or other underrepresented parts of the Philly Metro area, please speak to a Co-Chair or Steering Committee member about voting rights in the Branch.

About UsWe are an official branch of Philly DSA, located in Suburban Philadelphia. Our branch holds monthly meetings across Bucks and Montgomery counties. We are involved in the campaign for Medicare For All, immigration justice, anti-racism & anti-fascism, environmental education and cultural events. We welcome all people and strive to be accessible for the disabled/differently abled members of our community. We are Democratic Socialists in the same historical vein as our founder Michael Harrington, but we are also made up of many different tendencies of the Left. We plan in 2020 to expand our focus on ecological justice through community gardens, racial justice through our opposition to dangerous immigration policies at the local and national level, LGBTQ+ and gender equality through outreach to marginalized communities and education, and economic and health justice through Medicare for All and support for labor and unions.
