Abolish ICE : We can’t stay silent

Separating families at our border, violating human rights, and terrorizing our communities is just another day on the job for ICE. Many people don’t know this, but ICE has not been around forever, no, it was a response to 9/11 that included mass surveillance, racial profiling, and militarism. Housed within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Ice was positioned to view immigrants as a security threat, rather than as an integral part of communities. Now the agency has over 20,000 employees and an annual budget that soared to $8.8 billion this year.

Under Trump, ICE has become the American Gestapo, keeping children and families in cages while allegations of sexual abuse and human rights violations fly. ICE is a danger to our community, not just to those they target, to all of us. This is an organization that carries out raids and kidnappings in our "sanctuary cities" with impunity, despite being embroiled in countless scandals, from immigrants being sprayed with chemical disinfectants to operating secret white nationalist Facebook groups.

We will not stop until the funneling of taxpayer dollars to this terrorist organization FULLY STOPS. We will not stop until the last lock on the last cage is shattered.
