Artist Coalition for a Just Philadelphia will hold an Emergency Art Action to Fund Black Futures on June 16th, 1pm at the steps of The Philadelphia Museum of Art (followed by procession to City Hall), coinciding with City Council hearings on the 2021 budget! This action will use the power of artistic expression in the form of music, dance and visual art to demand a city budget that funds black futures by Defunding the Police and Saving the Philadelphia Cultural Fund. We invite all Philadelphians to join us in expressing how the arts are essential to our communities and demand a city budget that defends black life, art and culture! The voices of Black, Indigenous, and POC artists will be centered and amplified.
