As the COVID-19 pandemic worsens, a bailout to line the pockets of Big Oil billionaires would be downright irresponsible, and unethical. We need every dollar to go to supporting workers and communities impacted - not propping up a sunsetting industry.

To save lives and prevent our health care system from being overwhelmed, we need to prioritize our most vulnerable neighbours -- not payouts to Big Oil shareholders.

We need to keep our coffers full to save lives, and fund a just transition away from oil and gas that protects workers and communities. Now is the time to support, retrain and rehire oil workers, as part of a larger transition to a healthy, resilient economy.

We can get there. But first we have to convince our politicians to invest in people, not big polluters. The jobs of the future, not the jobs of the past.
