Join us for a discussion with SEIU rank and file activists demanding that our union drop the cops. In the aftermath of the Black-led, multiracial George Floyd uprising that mobilized tens of millions in the US and worldwide, the role of police as a violent, racist social force became more apparent than ever, prompting renewed efforts within SEIU and the broader labor movement to demand disaffiliation from police unions as part of the struggle to reorganize labor unions for building a new, anti-racist society. Our members will be joined by labor journalist, Hamilton Nolan, writer for In These Times and public editor for the Washington Post.
