Multiracial Organizing in Right-Wing Circles: A Conversation with Daryle Lamont Jenkins

  • 14681

Boston DSA is proud to welcome Daryle Lamont Jenkins, founder and executive director of One People's Project and one of the most well-known antifascists active today, on the one-year anniversary of Boston's Straight Pride Parade and police riot.

Fascism is synonymous enough with explicit, eliminationist racism that the existence of a small but very real cohort of fascists of color catches many people off guard. What attracts men like Proud Boys president Enrique Tarrio or infamous Portland street brawler Tusitala "Tiny" Toese to work in coalition with outright white supremacists? How should antifascist activists--especially white antiracists--respond to this sector of the far-right? And is this really as new as it seems, or is there historical precedent?

Building upon his article "Culture and Belonging in the USA: Multiracial Organizing and the Contemporary Far Right" (https://www.politicalresearch.org/2019/09/03/culture-and-belonging-usa), Jenkins will discuss these subjects and more with comrades from BDSA's Afrosocialists and Socialists of Color Caucus and our Direct Action, De-Escalation, and Security Committee.
