Block Party For The Homeless & Hungry (October 2020)
The Kindness Campaign will host a Block Party For The Homeless & Hungry on Friday, October 9th 5:30pm – 7:30pm at a homeless settlement at 2730 W Harrison St (Harrison St & California Ave).
We will encounter and engage 150+ homeless men and women waiting to be admitted into an overnight shelter. We will serve a multi-course hot meal, provide community resources, play music, laugh and share items of need – this month will be hygiene products: deodorant, lotion, hand sanitizer, body wipes, mouthwash and tampons/maxipads.
How can you help?
Donate new, unused hygiene products. Donations can be dropped off Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm at 1159 W 79th St Chicago, IL 60620. If you plan to come to the impact initiative, you can bring the items with you.
What can you bring if you are volunteering for the session?
Suggested items, besides hygiene products, include juice/tea, books (for adults to read), and/or snacks (chips, granola bars, etc).
