Black Lives Matter: Ban Stop and Search

  • 3347

The Southwark and Lambeth branches of Stand Up to Racism are uniting for a demonstration in Brixton’s Windrush Square on 25 July against Section 60 Stop and Search laws

This is an event not to miss, we will have speeches from local activists and politicians, and showcase the talent that makes South London the cultural centre of the city!

Stop and search is a problematic tool used by the British police to target, humiliate and brutalise black communities. Just over the lockdown period the Metropolitan police stop and searched more than 20 000 black men which is close to one quarter of the young black men in London. This has to stop - it’s time to scrap stop and search and end Section 60.

Speakers so far confirmed:
- Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP
- more to the announced

We will have speeches, spoken word performances and live music. We will then march to Brixton police station and into Southwark. Please join us to make this as loud as possible.
