While delivering remarks at the Minneapolis memorial service for George Floyd Thursday, Rev. Al Sharpton announced that on Aug. 28, “We’re going back to Washington.”

"We're going back this August 28 to restore and recommit that dream (of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) ... We need to go back to Washington and stand up, black, white, Latino, Arab, Asian, in the shadows of Lincoln and tell them this is the time to stop this," Sharpton said.

‼️ Save the date. More details will be announced here as they are released.

On August 28, 1963, about a quarter-million people participated in the historic March on Washington gathering near the Lincoln Memorial in which Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered the exalted “I Have a Dream” speech.
