A Discussion on Policing and Race in Evanston

  • 2333

Amid all that has happened nationwide in the last few weeks -- and more importantly, the last 400 years -- it is vital that we examine the state of policing and race both locally and nationally and talk meaningfully about the policies that have the greatest impact on day-to-day lives in Evanston and across the United States.

Watch the Clerk’s Office Zoom panel, broadcasted to Facebook Live, next Tuesday, June 16, at 6pm. Clerk Reid will facilitate a Roundtable Discussion between Evanston Police Chief Demitrous Cook, Open Society Foundation Fellow and former Chicago Alderman Ameya Pawar, and Northwestern’s African American Studies Department’s Dr. Chris Harris. Other panelists to be confirmed.

There will be an opportunity for questions from the audience, and we encourage your participation in the comments section of the Live.

PLEASE NOTE: You may watch the Facebook Live even without a Facebook account. Please let your friends that aren't on Facebook know about the event!
