What: Car Caravan and Socially Distanced March for Justice for George Floyd and all Black people killed by police violence

Time: 12pm-2pm

Where: Convene cars in the Rodeph Shalom parking lot and people on foot at Ben Franklin High School across the street. Both are at Broad St. and Green St. just north of Spring Garden St. We will then car caravan and march to Chamber of Commerce at 200 S. Broad St.

This action is organized by UNITE HERE Locals 274, 634 and 54. We are the hospitality, food service and casino workers unions in the Philadelphia area. We stand in solidarity with the protests against police violence taking place throughout the United States over the last week.

As a Union, we fight for freedom and justice for Black, Brown and white workers every day. We want equal justice for Black and Brown and we know we do not have equal justice today.

As we continue to struggle for economic equality for Black people, we also join the struggle against police violence against Black people.

Join us on Thursday at 12pm as we car caravan and march down Broad St., ending at the Chamber of Commerce at 200 S. Broad St.

Please be mindful that our membership is majority Black and Brown and on average, older than many who have been on the streets in the last few days.  As a group we are at higher risk of complications from COVID-19.  For this reason, we will be carefully spacing participants 6 feet apart and also making it possible to join by car.  We ask everyone to wear a mask as well.
