Flowers for Mr. Floyd: Peaceful Protest Against Police Brutality
After the wonderful support and success of yesterdays event we will be hosting another event on Saturday to lay beauty and peace along the police barricades and use our non-violence to protect and serve the activists leading the fight against police brutality and inequality in this nation.
We are not members of any official organization but are in communications with BLM5280 about this event so that our message is clear: We aim to employ our privilege to protect voices from militaristic police tactics. Any input or feedback from community organizers is more than welcome and we encourage them to reach out.We will be holding and wearing flowers to represent peace while we link arms to create a physical barrier between the protesters and the police.We will be standing in solidarity with Black Lives to provide protection and allyship against the horrific and out of control police violence that has marred this country.We will NEED the help of as many people who wish to contribute. Flowers will need to be acquired, supplies and medics will be needed if the police move in.Help us fight hatred with beauty and unite in the goal of a better tomorrow for those who are so frequently silenced.**If you are unable to come but want to participate, we are taking donations for flowers & supplies, any funds not used will be donated directly to Black Lives Matter 5280.
