Philadelphia city workers, from across departments, unions, and job classes, call on you to help us tell our city government we oppose cuts to jobs and services that place the economic burden of recovery from this pandemic on the working class in America's poorest large city. This Day of Action will comprise a socially-distanced in-person rally at Philadelphia City Hall as well as a social media call-in day occurring simultaneously.
*A note that participation in the in-person action is for people who feel enthusiastic and comfortable doing so. There will be plenty of ways to engage from home.*
In-Person #NoServicesNoCity Action
Tuesday, May 26th
11:00am-11:45am**
City Hall (West Side by the fountains near 15th street)
**Please arrive at 10:30am and plan plenty of time to arrive, because of public transit!
We will be arranging ourselves in a grid, at least 6 feet apart, holding large posters with a dramatic message about the impact of cuts in every department. City workers will speak, but in order to select a group of speakers who represents the full diversity and impact of the cuts and our services, we have to know WHO IS AVAILABLE. If you are a city worker and available to speak out, please email phillymunicipalworkersunited@gmail.com
Social Media #NoServicesNoCity Action
We call on all participants, workers and our allies, to make social media posts, calls, and emails to Philadelphia's governing officials to speak out against Mayor Kenney's proposed cuts to jobs and services. Hashtags for this event:#NoServicesNoCity
