The crisis of this pandemic is causing misery and death on a large scale across the world. Even in the major capitalist countries tens of thousands of people have died as a result of the virus. Social distancing and lockdown is even more difficult to achieve in poorer countries meaning that as the virus reaches places in the Global South the potential for mass death is a real possibility.

As well as a major health crisis, a giant economic slump has arrived. As demand for raw materials and oil dries up in the global economy its likely to hit developing economies hardest and fast.

In recent years we've seen global revolts take place across the Global South from Chile to Sudan to Iraq to Lebanon. Join us to discuss the impact of the covid crisis on the Global South and the potential for resistance
